Stamp Duty - Abolished
Cyprus stamp duty was abolished effective 1 January 2026
No Stamp Duty from 2026
Cyprus has repealed its Stamp Duty Law effective 1 January 2026. Most contracts and documents no longer attract stamp duty, reducing transaction costs and administrative burden.
Commercial agreements, loan contracts, share purchase contracts, and other documents signed from 2026 are not subject to stamp duty.
Previous Rates (Before 2026)
- • €0 - €5,000: 0% (No stamp duty)
- • €5,001 - €170,000: 0.15%
- • Over €170,000: 0.2%
- • Maximum: €20,000 per contract
Note: Certain real estate transfer fees and specific document categories may still have nominal fees under other specific legislation.
